Endlich ist das Jahr 2020 vorbei. Selten hat man sich so sehr das Ende eines Jahres und einen damit verbundenen Neuanfang herbeigesehnt. Aber verlangen wir dem Jahreswechsel damit nicht ein wenig zu viel ab? Es gibt auf jeden Fall ein Licht am Ende des Tunnels: Der Versuch eines Resümees aus der Sicht einer PR-Agentur aus Hamburg – Projects Martina Kink.
Gefühlt hat das Jahr 2021 durch den immer noch andauernden Corona-Lockdown genauso begonnen wie das alte Jahr aufgehört hat. Unser Alltag besteht aus der Vermeidung von persönlichen Kontakten, Kurzarbeit, Homeschooling, Homeoffice, Verzicht und viel Ungewissheit. Meist alles gleichzeitig. Auch wenn das noch eine Weile so bleiben wird, so haben wir doch den Eindruck, dass das neue Jahr mit einem Versuch der Normalität gestartet ist, auch wenn es hauptsächlich virtuell ist und sich in unserem Fall vorwiegend auf die Outdoor-Branche bezieht.
Nehmen wir zum Beispiel das Hahnenkamm-Rennen in Kitzbühel. Die spektakuläre Abfahrt von der Streif zieht jedes Jahr Massen von begeisterten Ski-Fans an: Hänge mit bis zu 85 Prozent Gefälle, Geschwindigkeiten von 140 Stundenkilometer und Sprünge bis zu 80 Meter Länge an der „Mausefalle“ sprechen für sich. Die 81. Ausgabe dieses Mega-Event fand also beinahe wie gewohnt statt. Helly Hansen unterstützt den Kitzbüheler Ski Club weiterhin als offizieller Outdoor Clothing Partner und die Zuschauer können sich wie gewohnt auf Weltklasse-Sport mit garantiertem Nervenkitzel freuen. Nur wird in diesem Jahr von zu Hause angefeuert wie es auch unsere Kollegin Samira getan hat, die bei uns in der Agentur den Helly-Hut aufhat.

Im Hintergrund laufen zu dieser Zeit bereits längst erste Vorbereitungen für die große Kampagne “Peaking Since ´91” von Polartec – doch dazu später mehr.
Ebenfalls in vollem Gange sind die Ausscheidungen für den America´s Cup, die älteste noch heute ausgetragene Segelregatta, bei der die Boote zweier Yachtclubs – Verteidiger und Herausforderer – in mehreren Wettfahrten gegeneinander antreten. Für das American Magic Team, mit Helly Hansen als offiziellen Bekleidungssponsor, verlief der Cup nicht ganz so wie erhofft. Nach dem das Team mit der “Patriot” gekentert ist, mussten diverse Reparaturen vorgenommen werden. Auch wenn sie es bis zum Halbfinale schafften, so endete dies leider nicht zur Freude der Amerikaner. Ob sich das Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team aus Italien oder das INEOS Team aus Großbritannien durchsetzen kann, wird am 13. Februar entschieden.
Auch wenn beim America´s Cup eher Segler und Segelbegeisterte mitfiebern, ist in den letzten Wochen ein Name aus dem Segelsport an niemandem spurlos vorbeigegangen: Boris Herrmann. Mit seiner Solo-Weltumseglung bei der Vendée Globe hat der Hamburger deutsche Segel-Geschichte geschrieben. Mit einem dramatischen Schluss-Spurt mit Fischtrawler-Kollision hat der sympathische Norddeutsche auch Segel-Laien an den Bildschirm gebunden und uns den tristen Alltag vergessen lassen.
Gewonnen hat das spektakuläre Rennen dann jedoch der Franzose Yannick Bestavenar, der als Inspiration für alle gilt und mit seiner Aktion gezeigt hat, dass man hilfsbereit, freundlich und auch der schnellste Matrose auf dem Wasser sein kann. Denn, nachdem Kevin Escoffier sein Boot versenkt hatte, waren Yannick und andere Matrosen da, um in einem echten Moment der Not Unterstützung zu bieten. Natürlich freuen wir uns, dass Yannick sich, um sich auf seiner Reise zu schützen, Bekleidung von Helly Hansen gewählt hat, die Segler bei sämtlichen Wetterbedingungen ausreichend schützt.
Aber zurück zu Polartec, das in diesem Jahr allen Grund zu feiern hat: 30 Jahre Polartec und 40 Jahre Erfindung des synthetischen Fleece. Ein Meilenstein, der die Outdoor-Branche revolutionieren sollte. Mit der Kampagne „Peaking Since ´91“ wird dieses Jubiläum mit zahlreichen treuen Partnern und Medien über das ganze Jahr hinweg gefeiert. Wir sind mit Projects Martina Kink bereits seit 1999 PR-Partner von Polartec und begleiten den innovativen Stoffhersteller auf seinem erfolgreichen Weg seit Jahrzehnten. Wie übrigens auch unsere PR-Kollegen aus Frankreich und Großbritannien. Ob es da einen signifikanten Zusammenhang gibt. Wir meinen ja. Aber das ist gerade nicht das Thema.
Startschuss der Kampagne wäre unter normalen Bedingungen auf der diesjährigen ISPO gefallen, mit Korkenknallen – jetzt fällt der Startschuss etwas ruhiger und online aus – aber das Jubiläum erstreckt sich ja über das ganze Jahr, da gibt es sicher noch die eine oder andere Möglichkeit zu feiern.
Auch die ISPO – ein Branchentreffen der besonderen Art findet in diesem Jahr, wie so viele andere Treffen auch, nur virtuell statt. Wir sind gespannt, wer uns online so über den Weg läuft – freuen uns aber schon sehr, wenn wir wieder zurück zu physischen Treffen und zur Normalität dürfen!
Auf diesen Moment warten wir auch in unserem kleinen, aber feinen Büro in Eppendorf. Hier pulsiert normalerweise das Herz unserer Agentur, wird aber aktuell natürlich auch nur von einer Person abwechselnd am Leben gehalten. Während das Tagesgeschäft versucht eine Art Normalbetrieb zu vermitteln, sitzen wir, Martina, Samira, Laura, Patricia und Boris, am heimischen Küchenfenster im Homeoffice und bringen uns regelmäßig über virtuelle Team-Meetings auf den neuesten Stand. Den Umstieg auf PROJECTS 2.0 haben wir dadurch ein wenig beschleunigen können und fühlen uns mehr als bereit für den „Normalbetrieb“.
Zugegeben – auch wenn es gemeinsam im Büro am schönsten ist, hat bei den aktuellen Wetterbedingungen und Schneeverwehungen der Verzicht auf den Weg zur Arbeit auch sein Gutes.
